Welcome the Age of Cyber Homesteading!

HOMESTEAD: Merrium Webster defines HOMESTEAD as “the home and adjoining land occupied by a family”.

CYBER HOMESTEADING: We coined the phrase CYBER HOMESTEADING and define it as “creating one’s livelihood in the home and on the land owned by a family”. Specifically, using one’s computer and internet to create cyber connections that create a community and a sense of well being for oneself and one’s family.

We are living in unusual and in difficult times. The Covid19 virus has changed the way Americans do, well, pretty much everything, including the ways we create community. Many of us have lost our jobs and are trying to make ends meet in the gig economy. Most of us live far from family, and so are lacking that support system. And all of us are staying home much, much more than we ever did.

This group is about finding a new way to support ourselves, both financially and emotionally, in the cyber world. It’s about creating a new sense of family and community, online, that also fills in the gaps in the “real world.”
